History has two purposes, especially for people like us. It either teaches lessons or deepens roots (or both). So what have we learned? When we started in 1957, we figured focusing on the needs of our members would make us both unique and help us grow. Over the years, we have grown, joining with other credit unions across Northern and Eastern Ontario communities - communities where people come first. History teaches us that we made the right choices. Our members tell us we're unique. And how are our roots? Over 47,000 members in 23 communities, a philosophy that is based on building and supporting natural human resources, a track record of community support: on rocks, near rivers and under trees, it appears our roots are taking hold just fine. What's our vision? There are a lot of places to get a great view around here. Looking forward, here's what we see and what we're striving to achieve: To be the leaders in building financial futures together. Not in Toronto. Not in stock markets halfway around the world. Right here, in Northern Ontario. Our goal is to make everyone stronger - to help us all find balance and build a financial base that lets us all thrive. How will we do it? By sticking to our values - they're an awful lot like the ones that people live by around here: integrity, respect, knowledge, teamwork, social responsibility. Our history is a tale of success. Our roots are strong. Our vision paints one heck of a picture, and we believe that by sticking to our values, we can make it happen. It's success for one and all, achieved together - the Northern way.
