The Timmins Symphony Orchestra (TSO) began in 1979 under the baton of Emil First. The Timmins Symphony Chorus was added in 2004. We offer instruction on violin, viola, cello, woodwinds, brass, piano, music theory and Kindermusik. The Orchestra consists of 55 members and the Symphony Chorus has 35 members, who work together for the joy, benefits and love of music! The mission of the TSO is to create quality Symphonic and Choral music and educate musicians of all ages. As a community supported organization, we value accessibility, inclusivity and fiscal responsibility. We continually strive to build upon our artistic and technical accomplishments; as well as explore new avenues for realizing potential, excellence and artistry. Josh Wood is the new Music Director beginning with the 2016-2017 season.
