Exactly one year after we announced our binding agreement to acquire Newcrest, our President and Chief Executive Officer, Tom Palmer, joined Lawson Winder, CFA for a fireside chat at the Bank of America Conference, reflecting on our progress this past year. In April, our collective program, “Water for Cajamarca,” won the technical work award in the “Efficient Water Management” category at Agromin Perú 2024 👏🏆🎉 Developed to bridge the water infrastructure gap in rural and urban areas of Cajamarca, Peru, “Water for Cajamarca” is a collaboration between Minera Yanacocha; EPS SEDACAJ S.A.; Universidad Nacional de Cajamarca; Asociación Los Andes de Cajamarca - Newmont ALAC; Municipality of Cajamarca; Ministerio de Desarrollo Agrario y Riego; and JASS, JURCH, JURMASH, MIDAGRI and neighbor communities. From installing modern groundwater systems to constructing reservoirs, this program aims to transform the water management landscape in the Cajamarca region. As part of the program’s plans, we aim to build eight tube wells, two of which will be ready by June in Qhapac Ñan. Additionally, we will construct 11 more reservoirs, six in the city and five in rural areas with higher storage capacity. This program and our various efforts and collaborations across our global operations help further our purpose of creating value and improving lives through sustainable and responsible mining. #Newmont #Agromin2024 #GoldMining #CopperMining #CorporateResponsibility

Our Group Head of External Relations, Todd Clewett, and Senior Manager of International Government Relations, Jorge Andrés Rincón Romero, co-chaired a Newmont-sponsored Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU) roundtable last week, where several U.S. companies gained insights from the Honorable Geoffrey Pyatt, Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources, U.S. Department of State.
