Timmins Chamber announces 2018-2019 Board of Directors

The results are in, and the members of the Timmins Chamber of Commerce have officially elected six individuals to represent them at the heart of the city’s largest business organization.

Coming from a range of business sectors and backgrounds, these six will sit on the Chamber’s 21-member board of directors, providing direction and guidance to the organization’s policy, advocacy and programs on behalf of its 600-plus members.

“The members of the Timmins Chamber of Commerce have elected a Board of Directors whose talent, passion and leadership will serve our business community well in the coming years,” said Nancy Mageau, incoming 2018-2019 Chamber president, and commercial account manager, RBC Royal Bank.

“Their unique and diverse perspectives will be crucial in translating our members’ needs into action, and I look forward to working with them this fall to help ensure that Timmins remains a great place to do business.”

The new additions to this year’s Board include Paul Brunet, CEO of Great White North Technology Consulting; Tammy Farrell, small business advisor at Scotiabank; Robert Knox, president of Knox Logistics; and Mark Rogers, owner/operator of Near North Video Productions.

Two directors who served on the Board last term were also elected to return: Monique Koski, co-president of Millson Forestry Service; and Melanie Verreault, president of Trimeda Consulting Inc./Esso Truck Stop/Kreb Inc.

They will be officially sworn in during the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting, due to be held at the Porcupine Dante Club on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Electronic and print ballots were sent out to each of the Chamber’s 1,100+ eligible voting members, who were given one month to cast their vote for their board representation.  Each board member serves a two-year term, after which they can apply for re-election, for a maximum of three terms.
