Timmins Chamber of Commerce heading to Queen’s Park to represent local business community during ‘Advocacy Day’

Timmins, ON | March 20, 2019— Representatives of the Timmins Chamber of Commerce—Board member Rob Knox, CAO Keitha Robson and Policy and Engagement Lead Cameron Grant—will be heading to the provincial capital on Mar. 25 to engage with legislators and their staff as part of Advocacy Day 2019.

The event, which is organized by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, will include visits with several Provincial Government ministers and staff, with opportunities to have conversations outlining the position of Timmins businesses regarding various issues.

The full-day event will include attendance at Queen’s Park question period, town hall meetings with government and opposition MPPs, small group consultations with the ministries of Labour, Energy Northern Development and Mines, and Infrastructure, culminating with a reception with MPPs.

‘These conversations are important as we continue our advocacy efforts on behalf of our business community,” said Knox.

“Although this is an event that brings together representatives from Chambers across the province, we will be bringing our made-in-Timmins resolutions that address permitting delays for mining exploration, as well as forestry and workforce shortage strategies that are of local importance to our members.”
