A Personal Approach to Ultimate Oral Care. Dental Hygienists are the only health Professionals whose primary concern is the prevention of oral disease (Health and Welfare, Canada 1988). The Government passed legislation in 2007 enabling hygienists to operate on their own. Registered dental hygienists have a unique body of knowledge, distinct expertise, recognized standards of education and practice, and a Code of Ethics. Public and private dental insurance plans added dental hygienists to their provider roster in their desire to improve business practices, create cost effective dental services, and improve access to care. Smiles for Life Dental Hygiene Clinic opened on March 2, 2009. We provide a personal approach to ultimate and cost effective dental care. Our services will include assessments, treatment planning, cleanings, polishing, oral hygiene instruction, fluoride treatments, pit and fissure sealants, sport guards and teeth whitening with our new wicked white system.
